HONG HUA MACHINERY WORKS LIMITED was established by Professor Dr AI-TI CHU, who was an economist, in 1965 in Taipei, Taiwan. It occupies a modern factory in an industrial park in Sanchung City, measuring 108,000 square feet.
Initially, the factory produced letterpress for domestic consumption and soon exported to regional countries. By the early 1970s, the company successfully launched the web offset press. We have since exported to over 50 countries, with over 2,500 units sold to date.
Hong Hwa sets aside funding each year for Research and Development (R&D) and employs expatriate engineering consultants from the USA and Europe to keep us at the forefront of the printing business.
The world's first successful AC shaftless printing unit was invented by our company in Taiwan in conjunction with Harland Simon press drive in the UK. It was subsequently installed at News International in Scotland, owned by the biggest newspaper tycoon, Mr. RUPERT MURDOCH.
